Hello There!
I’m Ross. I’m an Italian/English avid traveller, passionate about cultures, languages, healthy living and food, especially non-containing gluten food!
I was brought up bilingual and bicultural, having grown up in Italy with a very English mother, and because of that I’ve always been fascinated by the differences and similarities between different cultures and different languages. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I can now speak five languages and counting!
Unfortunately, I do work a corporate 9-5 job, which limits my ability to travel far as often as I’d like, but this blog is proof that you can still enjoy travelling on city breaks and regular 7-day trips.
But when did it all start? Back in 2018, when I decided that I had to see more of the world, and booked a last minute flight to New York!
This impulsive decision came after a very important breakup, which opened up a world of opportunities and a new found freedom, both spiritual and not. So I made it my 2019 resolution to visit at least 10 new places… mission accomplished! Within a year I went from barely knowing my backyard, to visiting places like Geneva, Brussels, New York, Amsterdam, Barcelona… some by myself, others with friends and family.
Skipping to the present… do I still travel alone? Sometimes. But now I have my like-minded amazing partner and travel companion, and together we enjoy looking for hidden gems, adventuring on remote hiking trails (sometimes getting lost!), discovering nice restaurants and finding gluten-free alternatives for me, and living unforgettable experiences.
Which brings me to this blog. I like researching for my trips and organizing itineraries, partially because I don’t like having to think about what to do while travelling, but also because my gluten intolerance makes it paramount to know if there are places where I can eat. And I love talking about my itineraries, so much that people probably get bored of me talking about all the things I’ve done or seen (especially in Iceland). But I also know the pain of going to a foreign country and struggling to find gluten free places to eat, or wondering if I’d be able to try any of traditional dish… and this is why I hope I can help fellow travellers like me navigate the foodie scene of the places I have visited, without having to scroll through countless websites only to end up eating gluten free burgers and pizzas.
Thank you for taking the time to read my origin story, and I hope you’ll find my travel stories useful.
